Serving with Heart: A Spotlight on Pastor Louigène Fodner

True Shepherd Foundation’s work in Haiti is strengthened by local leaders who faithfully serve their communities every day. Pastor Louigène Fodner is one of those leaders.
Through his ministry in Guinaudée, Haiti, Pastor Fodner has spent years investing in education, faith, young people, and families. His service reflects the kind of Christ-centered, community-led work that remains at the heart of True Shepherd Foundation’s mission.
A Life of Faith and Service
Born on May 26, 1984, in the locality of Zabwiko, Guinaudée, Pastor Fodner grew up in the community he now serves.
He attended the National School of Guinaudée for his primary education and continued his secondary education at College of Heribè Vincent. He later completed three years of theological studies as he pursued his calling to ministry.
His journey in church leadership developed over many years. In 2012, he was ordained as an evangelist. Two years later, in 2014, he was ordained as a deacon. In 2022, he became pastor of the Tabènak de Gras church of Guinaudée.
His ministry has extended beyond preaching and church services. Over the years, Pastor Fodner has worked to respond to practical needs within his community while creating opportunities for people to learn, grow, and strengthen their futures.

Creating Opportunities Through Education
Education has been an important part of Pastor Fodner’s work.
He has helped establish churches and schools, including a basic school in Ginode, and has helped children who were previously out of school gain access to education.
He also established a music school where 19 young people graduated after receiving lessons in musical instruments. Today, he continues supporting a local band and encouraging young people to develop their gifts.
This commitment to education connects closely with True Shepherd Foundation’s larger mission. Education and practical skills are two of the ways we seek to equip individuals with opportunities that can contribute to long-term, sustainable growth within their communities.
True Shepherd continues to support education and vocational opportunities in Haiti as part of our commitment to empowering people with knowledge and hands-on experience that can strengthen families and communities.

Serving Children Through Summer Bible School
This summer, Pastor Fodner and his church are continuing that investment in children through a weekly Vacation Bible School program in Guinaudée.
While traditional school is out for the summer, children have an opportunity to stay connected to their church and community through Bible lessons, fellowship, activities, and a warm meal.
The program also creates opportunities to build relationships with families throughout the community. As new families connect with the church, they can also learn more about educational and vocational opportunities available through True Shepherd Foundation’s work in Haiti.
Faith remains central to everything True Shepherd does. Supporting local churches, pastors, discipleship, and Bible teaching allows our spiritual mission to remain connected to the educational and practical programs we support.
Caring for His Community
Pastor Fodner’s service also includes caring for adults facing health challenges.
He has helped members of his community navigate serious illnesses and hospitalizations, providing support when families are going through difficult circumstances.
This kind of local leadership is important to True Shepherd Foundation’s approach in Haiti. Our work depends on relationships with people who live within the communities we serve and understand their needs firsthand.
True Shepherd’s broader approach is built around working alongside local leaders and communities to create sustainable solutions in education, healthcare, vocational training, and other areas of need.
Pastor Fodner’s years of service offer a meaningful example of what that partnership can look like in practice.

Please Join Us in Prayer
Earlier this year, Pastor Fodner was involved in a serious car accident.
As he continues his recovery, we ask the True Shepherd community to join us in praying for Pastor Fodner and his family.
Please pray for his continued healing and strength, for his family as they walk alongside him, and for wisdom and encouragement as he continues serving his church and community.
We are grateful for Pastor Fodner’s faithful service and for the many ways he continues investing in the people of Ginode.
Leaders like Pastor Fodner remind us of the importance of working alongside people who are already serving, leading, and building within their own communities.
As True Shepherd Foundation continues our work in Haiti, we are grateful to support local leaders who share our commitment to faith, education, opportunity, and sustainable community development.
